Who we are.
Children’s Sure House (CSH) is a community based organization, established in Uganda in 1993 to assist the vulnerable children-orphans whose
parents died of HIV/AIDS; those whose parents died in the previous decades of political turmoil in Uganda, children who are dumped by their own parents and later become victims of circumstances and others whose parents are below the poverty line.

What kind of organization are we?

This Organization is registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Uganda under the
Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Board registration. CSH envisages in serving the underprivileged, vulnerable, illiterate, Prisoners, Widowers, poor and the HIV/AIDS infected and affected communities of Uganda, regardless to their tribal, religious, social, racial and economic background.

Where are we located?

The main projects of the organization are in KiwangalaVillage, KisekaSub-county in Masaka District, which is 180 km from Kampala (the capital of Uganda.)As a token of appreciation and support from the Government of Uganda, 2 acres of land were freely donated to the project where the school project and orphanage were constructed. We also have activities at Bulenga Village Wakiso
District, 10 kilometers from the capital city (Kampala).

How many children are in the school?

CSH has a membership of 750 children in the primary
section, 200 children in the secondary section, 120 adults in the adult literacy
section, and 30 youths and adults who are gaining skills in our vocational training centre.

While CSH is committed to assisting all vulnerable members of Kiwangala and the surrounding villages, specific priority is given to Child Headed Families; children who takes up the responsibilities of their late
parents before they even reach the age of 14 years.

What kind of projects do we have?

Among the projects CSH runs includes a free adult literacy educational program which has been in operation since 1999. Since then, this program has
benefited over 600 youth, adults, widows, community leaders and local business people, who can now read, write and express themselves in
English. This program currently functions in Masaka and Rakai Districts.

CSH runs a school project for kids ranging from 4 years to 20 years and above. There is a nursery section, pre - primary section and a secondary section. From
nursery to primary seven we have 450 children, whereas from primary seven to senior four we care for 200 needy children.* CSH vocational training school trains children in handcrafts, carpentry, computer lessons, piggery farming and
agricultural farming. Many of our orphans who don’t wish to excel in academics studies switch directly to vocational training as do many of our community members.

Successful candidates are awarded certificates. The orphanage project of CSH is currently housing only the desperate cases. We have 20 children in our care since this program started. However, we distribute other orphans to willing families to adopt.

Since last year, CSH has been building a pioneer orphanage home which is being sponsored by individuals from UK and an African student’s organization in the University of Northern Illinois in USA, not to forget the Government of Uganda and some Ugandan individuals. We hope that by the end of the year 2004 some of our orphans will be accommodated and taken full
